Inaugurating the second day of the GOBA project workshop Comparative Perspectives on the Formatting of Religion in Modern Society, Professor Beaman will give a lecture on the many different responses from religious communities in Canada following the controversial Saguenay decision, in which the Supreme Court of Canada found that the recital of prayers in municipal council chambers violates the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.

Professor Inger Furseth (University of Oslo), will respond to Beaman's lecture.
