The second conference of the Reformation Research Consortium (RefoRC) will take place May 10th-12th, 2012, in Oslo and will be hosted by the University of Oslo.
RefoRC conferences are open for short paper presentations on all fields of research related to the reformations of the sixteenth century. Only the plenary papers have a common theme.
Theme of plenary papers
The plenary papers of the second RefoRC conference will cover both Northern Protestant (mainly Lutheran and Reformed) and Southern (mainly Catholic) Europe, related to the question: What changes did the Protestant Reformation and the Catholic Reform bring about in the individual and the collective dealings with death and the dead? Comparative perspectives as well as new research results will be presented.
Speakers plenary papers
Peter Marshall (Warwick University) will give one of the overview lectures, whereas one of the more specialized papers – focussing on a comparison between France and England – will be read by Vanessa Harding (University of London). Other plenary papers will be given by e.g. Tarald Rasmussen (University of Oslo) and Herman Selderhuis (John a Lasco Library Emden). A more detailed oversight will be presented here shortly.
