Academic Interests
My PhD project explores a medieval manuscript collection reported to have been discovered in Edfu, Egypt in the early 20th century. I am analyzing the current state of the manuscripts, critically assessing the story of discovery, and exploring the scribal practices and sociocultural setting of the manuscripts’ production and early use. Thus, my research lies in the fields of Coptic studies and Early Islamic Egypt.
On the APOCRYPHA project I serve as research assistant. I maintain the project’s website, help organize workshops and conferences, index academic volumes, etc.
I am also academic secretary on the project “New Directions in Orthodox Christian Thought and Practice” where the current topic is Orthodox Christianity and democracy.
I also taught in education programs at the University of South-Eastern Norway. I taught Christianity, Religion, Philosophies of Life, and Ethics (KRLE) to future pre-, primary, and lower secondary school teachers.
