The University Board has decided to appoint Laura Nasrallah to honorary doctor at the University of Oslo (UiO) in 2024. Nasrallah is Professor of New Testament Criticism and Interpretation at Yale Divinity School, and she was suggested as new honorary doctor by the Faculty of Theology, UiO.

Laura Nasrallah’s research and teaching bring together New Testament and early Christian literature with the archaeological remains of the Mediterranean world, and often engage issues of colonialism, gender, race, status, and power.
Her research areas and theoretical work, as well as her teaching expertise, overlap with several fields at the Faculty of Theology, not only the Biblical field.
Nasrallah worked as Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at Harvard Divinity School before she started in her current position at Yale Divinity School.
