The Faculty of Theology at the University of Oslo conducts research and teaching within Theology, Christian Studies, Inter-religious Studies and Diaconal Studies.
Organization
The faculty board is the faculty's highest decision-making body. The faculty and the faculty board is led by the Dean.
Administrative Regulations for the Faculty of Theology
The Administrative Regulations are based on the following laws, agreements and regulations: The Norwegian University and University Colleges Act, the Norwegian Civil Service Act and the University of Oslo HR Regulations, Election Regulations and Procedural Regulations for the Election or Appointment of Deans/Pro-Deans, the regulations governing studies and examinations at the University of Oslo, the regulations on the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the University of Oslo and the University of Oslo general rules for faculties.

The Faculty of theology welcomes four newly appointed doctoral fellows Apr. 26, 2024
Johanna Bokedal, Lea Matthaei, Ole Vinther, and Nina Gacic have recently joined the Faculty of Theology as new PhD fellows. Coming from varied academic backgrounds, they will each bring their own unique perspectives and research interests to our faculty.

New Book: Parabiblica Coptica Apr. 5, 2024
The present volume focuses on the Coptic parabiblical texts – those texts that do not belong to the Bible but fall in its orbit – which include not only the Apocrypha but also the works of the Apostolic Fathers.

New honorary doctorates at the University of Oslo Feb. 16, 2024
Nobel Prize winner Emmanuelle Charpentier as well as Dr. Sjur Bergan and Professor Trond Petersen are among UiO's honorary doctors 2024. They will be formally appointed at UiO's Annual Celebration on 2 September, where topics related to academic freedom and democracy will receive special attention.
